Day 1
Amritsar Arrival
On Arrival in Amritsar Airport / Railway Station, you are met by our rep and transferred to Hotel. Later, visit Golden Temple & Jalianwala Bagh. Overnight stay in Hotel in Amritsar.

Amritsar, literally Pool of Nectar, derives its name from the Amrit Sarovar that surrounds the famous Golden Temple in the city. True to its name, the heart of the city is the temple complex, which is the holiest of Sikh shrines. The Golden Temple complex itself is surrounded by a maze of narrow. It is home to the Harmandir Sahib (known as Golden Temple), the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Region. The City also houses the Akal Takht, the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa, and the committee responsible for the upkeep of Gurudwaras. As per 2011 Indian Census, the population of Amritsar city is 1,132,761 aprox. Chandigarh is 217 kms from Amritsar and Wagh Border – 29kms away. The Official language is Punjabi. On Arrival, check in at Hotel. Later visit golden Temple & Jalianwala bagh.

The Golden Temple
The Darbar Sahib accepts the homage of all and this is represented by the four entrances to the temple. The Akhand Path, an unbroken reading of the Guru Granth Sahib, is held on the first floor of Darbar Sahib. On the top floor is the Sheesh Mahal, an impressive hall covered by mirrors.

The temple itself is topped by a golden dome contributed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who had the shrine rebuilt. It came to be called the Golden Temple after this. Devotees wash their hands and feet, and cover their heads while entering the temple complex via Darshini Darwaza. They then do the ‘parikrama’ or the round of the smaller homage sites surrounding of the temple. The parikrama, is a wide marbled passageway that encircles the Sarovar.

Jallianwalabagh: This is the spot of the black incident where 379 people were ruthlessly killed and about 1,200 injured by General Dywer’s troops. The Martyrs’ Gallery is a poignant reminder of this heinous crime during the British Raj.

Day 2
Amritsar & Wagah Border

Breakfast is taken at Hotel. Visit Gobindgarh Fort and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum Amritsar, then Wagah Border in the afternoon.

Gobindgarh Fort: the very symbol of Punjab. A symbol of the times when Punjab was forged. Spread across a grand 43 acres, right in the heart of Amritsar city, this magnificent, heritage site has a glorious history of its own, spanning across 257 years – right from the era of the Bhangi Misl to the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh- to The British East India Company to The Indian Army to now, when finally, it opens its gates to the people of Punjab.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum Amritsar, which was originally the summer palace of first king of Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Later, it was converted in to museum in 1977 CE. It is a treasure house of the history, art and architecture of the Sikhs of the 18th and the 19th century AD.

Wagah Border (29 km)
West of Amritsar, the borderlands of India and Pakistan are marked by cultivated fields. Only the barbed wire fence breaks this pastoral scene reminding us of the political significance of this place. At Wagah, we can recharge our patriotic feelings with rousing hurrahs for India during the elaborate ceremonial change of guard held on both sides of the border, at sunset every day. Evening Return to Hotel for overnight stay in Hotel in Amritsar.

Day 3
Amritsar / New Delhi

Early Morning, proceed to Amritsar Railway Station to connect Shatabdi Express to New Delhi.

Departure Amritsar: 05:00hrs
Arrival New Delhi    : 11:15hrs

On Arrival, pick up from New Delhi Railway Station to Hotel. Check in & Leisure until noon.

Delhi, officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi, is the Capital territory of Indi. It has a population about 11 million and a massive metropolitan population of about 16.3 million, making it the second most populous city and second most populous urban agglomeration in India. New Delhi is a district, which serves as the Capital of India and seat of the executive, legislative and judiciary branch of the Govt. of India. It is also the centre of the Govt. of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. New Delhi is situated within the metropolis of Delhi. The foundation stone of the New Delhi City was laid by George V Emperor of India during Delhi Durbar of 1911. The City was designed by British Architects, Sir Edwin Lutyen’s and Sir Herbert Baker. The New Capital was inaugurated on 13th February 1931 by India’s Viceroy Lord Irwin.

Afternoon, visit Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple (optional service). Swaminarayan Akshardham (New Delhi) is a Hindu temple, and spiritual-cultural campus. Akshardham Temple Complex displays millennia of traditional and modern Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture. Later return to Hotel for overnight stay in Delhi

Day 4:
Day Trip to Agra

Delhi / Agra Transfer – Distance – 240km / 04-5Hrs
Note: Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

After Breakfast, leave by road for Agra.
Agra, the erstwhile capital of India under the great Mughals and home to Taj Mahal, has always fascinated the Indians as well as foreigners alike. Most of Agra is on the west bank of Agra with the Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal at its nucleus.

On Arrival, visit the world famous Taj Mahal, the eternal and extravagant monument expressing the enduring love of Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj took 22,000 laborer’s from Central Asia and India were employed. Also visit Akbar’s magnificent Agra Fort, which dominates the center of the city and Itmad-ud-Daulah tomp built by Nur Jahan in memory of her parents. Evening, return to Delhi. Overnight stay in Hotel in Delhi

Day 5:
Delhi Sightseeing

Breakfast is taken at Hotel. Later proceed for local sightseeing of Delhi, covering Qutab Minar Complex, Lotus Temple (closed on Monday), Teen Murti Bhawan (closed on Monday), Indira Gandhi Museum (closed on Monday). Afternoon, Birla Mandir, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan & Parliament House (view only), Red Fort & Raj Ghat (both closed on Monday). Evening at Leisure. Overnight Stay in Hotel in Delhi.

Day 6:
Departure Transfer
Local Shopping, (if time permits, optional, on your own) & Departure Transfer

After breakfast, relax at Hotel. Later, proceed for local shopping (additional service), then off to airport to connect flight for onward journey.
