Day 1

Dimapur Arrival

On arrival at Dimapur Rly Station/ Airport, you will be met and transferred to Hotel. Check in to Hotel. After fresh n up; visit Ruins of Kachari Kingdom in Dimapur Town. Later spend time at Dimapur Market – One of the landmarks of the town is the famous market near the railway station; where one can buy the goods imported from Myanmar and China. Evening at Leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel at Dimapur.

Kachari Ruins or The Dimasa Kachari are a series of mushroom domed pillars that were created by the Dimasa Kachari Kingdoms that ruled before the Ahom invasion during the 13th century. The purpose and origin of the pillars are mysterious; few of the pillars stand in full glory while others are crumbled down. It is also believed that a game similar to that of chess was played here with the mushroom shaped dooms.

Day 2
Transfer to Kohima
Distance: 75 kms, 03 hrs approx.

After early breakfast, transfer to Kohima. On arrival; check in to the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland, is the second largest city in the state. Originally known as Kewhira, Kohima was founded in 1878; when the British Empire established its headquarters of the then Naga Hills District of Assam Province.

Day 3
Excursion to Khonoma Village and Kohima World War- II Cemetery

Visit, the Kohima War Cemetery constructed in the memory of the officers and soldiers who made supreme sacrifices during World War II, the war cemetery attracts hundreds of visitors every year including the relatives of those martyrs. Maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the cemetery witnessed more than 2000 graves, on each grave there are beautiful epitaphs carved in bronze. “When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today”.

Later, visit Khonoma Village, which lies 21kms away from Kohima town. The Khonoma village is the first “green village” of Nagaland. The village is well known for the legendary leader Angami Zapu Phizo; who was the founder of the Naga movement. Return to Hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Kohima.

Day 4
Transfer to Imphal, Manipur

Transfer to Imphal, en-route visit Naga Heritage Village-the permanent site for Hornbill festival. You will pass through the border town of Mao, which is the official border gate of Nagaland and Manipur. On Arrival, check in at Hotel. Rest of the day at Leisure. Overnight Stay in Hotel in Imphal.

Imphal is the capital city of Manipur. On the Imphal River, Kangla Fort was once the seat of local rulers, and now houses relics. On the south side of the centuries-old Polo Ground, Manipur State Museum has many displays including tribal artifact’s and a large royal boat. Next to the former Royal Palace, Shri Shri Govindaji Temple has twin domes, a large hall and shrines to Hindu gods.

Day 5
Local Sightseeing of Imphal

Full day city tour of Imphal city. Visit Kangla Fort & Kangla Museum (Wednesday closed), Govindajee Temple, Mahabali Temple, Imphal Museum, Second World War Cemeteries & IMA Market, a market run by women only. Evening at Leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel at Imphal.

Day 6
Excursion to Loktak Lake

Full day excursion to Loktak Lake and Sendra Island. Later visit to Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is sharing the border with Loktak Lake, the last natural habitat of the endangered marsh-dwelling brow-antlered deer of Manipur called “Sangai”. It is the only floating national park in the world; which is composed of large masses of floating weed (called “Phumdi” in local dialect). Later, visit INA Museum – the place;where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s India National Army first hoisted the Indian Tri-colors. Visit Loukoi Pat; a picnic spot with boating facility. On your way back; visit Japanese War Memorial (India Peace Memorial); which is located at Red Hill, in Bishnupur District of Manipur. Rest of the day at Leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel at Imphal.

Day 7
Departure Transfer
Breakfast is taken at Hotel. Later, as per flight schedule, proceed to Imphal Airport to connect your flight back home.

Nagaland Entry Requirements
Indian passport holders require an Inner Line Permit (ILP), which can be applied for at Nagaland House offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Shillong and Guwahati. All applications need to be made individually and are granted for only 30 days. Foreigners do not require an ILP, except for citizens of China and Pakistan. Within Nagaland, the only way to travel is by taxi on roads that are usually uncomfortable, bumpy and extremely dusty. Take necessary precautions and be prepared for slow going.
