Amritsar, literally Pool of Nectar, derives its name from the Amrit Sarovar that surrounds the famous Golden Temple in the city. True to its name, the heart of the city is the temple complex, which is the holiest of Sikh shrines. The Golden Temple complex itself is surrounded by a maze of narrow.

Amritsar, also known as Ramdaspur and colloquially as Ambarsar, is a city in north western part and the administrative headquarters of the Amritsar District in Punjab, India. It is home to the Harmandir Sahib (known as Golden Temple), the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Region. The City also houses the Akal Takht, the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa, and the committee responsible for the upkeep of Gurudwaras. As per 2011 Indian Census, the population of Amritsar city is 1,132,761 aprox. Chandigarh is 217 kms from Amritsar and Wagh Border – 29kms away. The Official language is Punjabi. Day 1
Amritsar Arrival

On Arrival in Amritsar Airport / Railway Station, you are met by our rep and transferred to Hotel. Later, visit Wagah Border. Return to Hotel for overnight stay in Hotel in Amritsar.

Wagah Border (29 km)
West of Amritsar, the borderlands of India and Pakistan are marked by cultivated fields. Only the barbed wire fence breaks this pastoral scene reminding us of the political significance of this place. At Wagah, we can recharge our patriotic feelings with rousing hurrahs for India during the elaborate ceremonial change of guard held on both sides of the border, at sunset every day. Evening Return to Hotel for overnight stay in Hotel in Amritsar.

Day 2
Amritsar Local Sightseeing
Overnight Journey to Manali / 450kms – 10-12hrs drive approx

Breakfast is taken at Hotel. Later, check out and visit Golden Temple & Jalianwala Bagh. If time permits, visit Gobindgarh Fort and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum in Amritsar.

The Golden Temple: The Darbar Sahib accepts the homage of all and this is represented by the four entrances to the temple. The Akhand Path, an unbroken reading of the Guru Granth Sahib, is held on the first floor of Darbar Sahib. On the top floor is the Sheesh Mahal, an impressive hall covered by mirrors.

The temple itself is topped by a golden dome contributed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who had the shrine rebuilt. It came to be called the Golden Temple after this. Devotees wash their hands and feet, and cover their heads while entering the temple complex via Darshini Darwaza. They then do the ‘parikrama’ or the round of the smaller homage sites surrounding of the temple. The parikrama, is a wide marbled passageway that encircles the Sarovar.

Jallianwalabagh: This is the spot of the black incident where 379 people were ruthlessly killed and about 1,200 injured by General Dywer’s troops. The Martyrs’ Gallery is a poignant reminder of this heinous crime during the British Raj.

Gobindgarh Fort : the very symbol of Punjab. A symbol of the times when Punjab was forged. Spread across a grand 43 acres, right in the heart of Amritsar city, this magnificent, heritage site has a glorious history of its own, spanning across 257 years – right from the era of the Bhangi Misl to the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh- to The British East India Company to The Indian Army to now, when finally, it opens its gates to the people of Punjab.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum in Amritsar
Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum was originally the summer palace of first king of Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Later, it was converted in to museum in 1977 CE. It is a treasure house of the history, art and architecture of the Sikhs of the 18th and the 19th century AD.

Late in the evening, proceed to Manali. Overnigth journey.

Day 3
Manali Arrival & Half Day Local Sightseeing

Manali Arrival. On Arrival, pickup and transfer to Hotel, later half day sightseeing of Manali by non AC Local Vehicle. Note – Early check in is subject to availability of rooms, as standard check in time is 1200hrs.

Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in northern Himachal. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It’s also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass. A favorite destination for honeymooners & leisure.

Manali local sightseeing includes Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Hot springs and Tibetans Monastery. Later, you are free to explore the Mall Road & IBEX Market of Manali. Overnight stay in Hotel in Manali.

Day 4
Manali / Solang Valley / Rohtang (optional) / Atal Tunnel

Breakfast is taken at Hotel. Later, sightseeing of Solang Valley; half day activity; and Atal Tunnel. Optional Service to Rohtang pass, subject to whether condition and permission from authority. Later return to Manali for overnight stay in Manali.

Solang Valley derives its name from combination of words Solang and Nallah. It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal, 14 km northwest of the resort town Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass, and is known for its summer and winter sport condition. Solang Valley is famous for adventure activities in Manali. Enjoy activities like snow scooter, skiing, tube slide (in winter season) paragliding, Cable Car Ride, Horse riding, mountain bike etc (your own cost, all activities subject to availability at the time of your visit).

Atal Tunnel (also known as Rohtang Tunnel) is a highway tunnel built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali Highway in Himachal Pradesh at a length of 9.02 km. It is the longest tunnel above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in the world and is named after former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. With the existing Atal Tunnel and after the completion of under-construction Shingo La Tunnel, which is targeted to be completed by 2024, both the Leh-Manali Highway and the Nimmu–Padum–Darcha road routes will become all-weather road. After Solang Valley, if time permits, visit Atal Tunnel. Later, return to Manali for overnight stay in Manali.

Rohtang Pass (optional services on request) is a high mountain pass on the eastern end of the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh. Confirmation of Rohtang Pass trip is subject to weather condition.

Day 5
Raison, Kullu Valley & Overnight Journey to Delhi.

Morning after breakfast; visit Raison; Kullu Valley Sightseeing. Kullu ( Raison) is famous for white water rafting (optional, payable directly ). Evening return to Delhi by Volvo Bus. Overnight Journey to Delhi (580kms, 14-16hrs drive approx).

Kullu Valley is a broad open valley in Himachal, formed by the Beas River between Manali and Largi. This valley is famous for its temples, beauty and its majestic hills covered with pine and deodar forest and sprawling apple orchards.

Raison, famous for white water rafting, is a stopover, which has vast camping grounds maintained by Himachal Tourism.

Day 6
Delhi Arrival & Departure Transfer to Airport
Morning Arrive in Delhi.

On Arrival, you will be transferred to Airport / Railway Station for onward journey, if transfers are confirmed in advance.
